Now Is The Time For Congressional Term Limits!

Now is the time to repeal laws that treat Senators and Representatives differently from the rest of us!

Now is the time for each of us to share the word - please become a follower of this blog, share it with your friends, and encourage them to follow it as well.

Our goal is to get enough people in your state to support passage of The Limited Congressional Powers constitutional amendment that your state legislature will pass a bill asking Congress to pass this amendment and send it to the states to ratify it.

Then to keep working until at least 38 states (three-quarters of all states) have done this, at which time two-thirds of Congress should realize it is time they pass this amendment or face being turned out of office for a replacement who will.

The point of this amendment is simple. It is an honor to represent your state or district in the US Senate or House of Representatives. It is not a career and never should have been. There should be term limits. There should not be special pension plans, health plans, special laws or other "perks" of representing We The People in Congress.

Even the best Senators and Representatives get "jaded" if they are in office too long. George Washington had a good idea, serve for a limited period of time, go home for time, and then possibly serve again for another limited period of time in a different capacity than the first time.

Now is the time to ratify the Limited Congressional Powers constitutional amendment. Together we can do it!

What is the Limited Congressional Powers constitutional amendment?

1. No person shall be elected to the office of Senator more than twice, and no person who has held the office of Senator, or acted as Senator, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected Senator shall be elected to the office of the Senator more than once.

2. No person shall be elected to the House of Representative more than four times.

3. Congress shall pass no law that exempts itself from any provision of that law. Any and all specific provisions of existing laws exempting Congress from those provisions shall be repealed upon adoption of this article, without repealing the unaffected portion of those laws.

4. Congress shall pass no law, or portion of a law, that applies only to itself, with the sole exception that it can set the salary to be paid to Senators and Representatives serving in the next succeeding Congress.

5. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.
